This is an Open Day. Everyone is welcome and can participate as long as all safety rules are followed. Spectators are also welcome and anyone interested to see what Sas is about. The event and range build will start at 7:00 at Funky Town (gate: https://maps.app.goo.gl/87DorWEeXvKStxAB9). OPTIONALLY: people are also welcome to meet earlier. Some people are going to meet at the Wimpy at the garage on the R59 South at 6:00. They will have breakfast and will practice convoy driving and radio procedures when departing at 6:30 to the range. There will be a Juinior Hike, for all kids <16 Their packing list: Firearm 50 rounds of ammo (100 if .22lr) Closed walking shoes (like tekkies or boots, not sandals ) Broad rimmed hat 1L Water Energy food like protein bar bandage/wound dressing Notebook and pen Toilet paper or tissue The Hike will be 1.6km And they will shoot from 50m Even if you don't have all the equipment, feel free to come, we can lend people things they need or make some other plan. After all the rifle courses of fire, we will clean our rifles. People without rifles can come and learn how to clean the various rifle platforms like AR's/AK's and LM's. This is also a useful opportunity to learn about the manual of arms and operation of various firearm platforms. This will be followed by a Casualty evacuation exercise. Here we will practice how to help, assist and move a wounded person. We will also practice how to stop bleeding and to assist a wounded person. Remember to bring a hat, sunblock and water and a snack. Also bring your own eye and ear protection! There will also be a braai afterward. So bring some meat and a drink if you want to braai.
